OB Technician (OB Tech) - Louisville, Kentucky
Job Summary
The OB Technician assists the healthcare team during the intra-operative period, primarily supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. Responsibilities include:
- Setting up the operating room
- Preparing and transporting patients for surgery
- Adjusting lights and equipment
- Passing instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants
- Holding retractors
- Counting sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments
Basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique is required and applied in patient and family interactions.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience as a surgical tech or completion of a surgical tech program or apprentice program
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year experience in an operating room setting
