Job Opportunity: Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II
Job Summary
- Intermediate-level position providing specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to pediatric and/or adult patients.
- Works under general to limited supervision.
- Supports medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex cardiovascular conditions.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform specialized imaging procedures using advanced cardiovascular and radiologic technology equipment.
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
- Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure completeness and quality according to protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities.
- Provide instruction, mentorship, and in-service training to less experienced team members.
- Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks.
- Maintain professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in all duties.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Pediatric Echocardiography, including experience within the last year.
- Experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
- Experience working with both pediatric and adult patients.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Certification from ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI.
