Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Job Summary

The Surgical Technician assists the healthcare team during the intra-operative period, focusing on preparation and handling of surgical instruments and equipment, and assisting the surgeon during procedures. The role requires knowledge of specific surgical procedures, prioritization, planning, and problem-solving in a dynamic environment. The Surgical Tech must respond immediately in urgent or emergency situations and apply aseptic technique and medical terminology knowledge in patient care.

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, including experience within the last year
Experience as a Surgical Technician
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Key Responsibilities

Maintain aseptic technique during surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes
Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation
Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts consistently according to policy
Adhere to professional standards of practice
