Sonographer
Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel (Clinical - Allied)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, focusing on comfort and clear communication.
- Perform ultrasound procedures, monitor patients throughout the process, and relieve pre-testing anxiety.
- Set up equipment and ensure timely administration of procedures.
- Review prior reports, images, and patient charts carefully.
- Ensure proper images are obtained, studies are complete, and appropriate techniques are used; notify reader as needed.
- Maintain records and logs of exams performed.
- Manage inventory and supplies for the assigned area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Cardiac Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience, including recent experience within the last year.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS) credential from ARDMS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Experience working with adult patients in an inpatient setting.
- Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills.
- Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
- Experience scanning TAVR and Mitraclip procedures.
- Experience working at a facility performing TAVR and Mitraclip procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Stress Echo.
- Familiarity with 3D echo imaging.
- Knowledge of protocols related to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure devices.
- Experience maintaining ICAEL-accredited echo lab standards.
- Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems.
- Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.

- Specialty years of experience: Minimum of 200 inpatient echo cases (implies significant experience, typically 2+ years).
