Registered Nurse – Medicine / Pediatrics
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Responsible for managing an assigned group of patients, documenting patient responses, assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures, monitoring physiological data, administering medications and IV infusions, and delivering competent patient care. Engages with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures, and delegates tasks to support staff.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage care for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor and intervene based on patients’ physiological data.
- Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
- Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and discharge.
- Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Pediatric Hematology / Oncology experience, including at least 1 year within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Experience in Pediatrics.
