Job Opportunity: Radiographer II

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Job Description

Under general supervision, perform advanced professional work in exposing and processing radiographic images and fluoroscopy examinations. May circulate to other diagnostic radiology areas such as surgery, trauma, and pediatrics. Recognized as an expert in the field or participate in training programs to enhance skills in specialized radiology areas or modalities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate standard and portable radiology equipment for radiographic examinations and fluoroscopy studies, including intravenous pyelography, cystography, gastrointestinal series, and body section radiography.
  • Assist physicians and perform specialized imaging procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and film output issues.
  • Serve as a resource and preceptor for other radiographers and/or students.
  • Participate in training programs to develop proficiency in Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or Special Procedures.
  • Maintain records, inventory, and equipment for the assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Contract Length

  • Approximately 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty
    OR
  • Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program with emphasis in radiologic technology specialty

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the specialty required by the hiring department

Certifications & Licensure

  • Current ARDMS, ARRT, and/or CCI credentials in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty required by the hiring department
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Skills

  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiography techniques
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of radiographic equipment
  • Ability to prioritize assignments effectively
  • Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients of varying ages
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain procedures clearly to patients and/or parents
  • Computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience in cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty
