MRI Technologist
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The MRI Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department and industry standards. This role requires thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, educating and addressing patient questions or concerns, and ensuring age-appropriate communication and safety. The technologist also demonstrates expertise in patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control. Additionally, this position involves overseeing and training students providing patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify ordered exams and appropriateness using assessment data and growth/development principles.
- Position patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
- Operate imaging and computer equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Collaborate with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.
- Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Prepare patients professionally, educate them, and respond to questions or concerns.
- Ensure communication and safety approaches are appropriate for patient age and development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year in a clinical setting.
- BLS certification.
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification/license.
Note: Prior travel experience is not indicated as required for this position.
