Occupational Therapist
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Under general supervision, perform professional Occupational Therapy activities including planning, evaluating, establishing, and implementing individual and group treatment activities under the direction of a physician.
Essential Responsibilities
- Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures.
- Evaluate patients in areas such as independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and various psychosocial skills.
- Interpret evaluation data and develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, including frequency and duration of treatment.
- Assist patients by designing and fabricating adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, and instruct on joint protection and body mechanics.
- Inform patients and families about goals and progress.
- Assist with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy plans.
- May supervise students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensure: Current license as an Occupational Therapist from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- Experience: Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices, skill in organizing and instructing therapy activities, ability to interpret therapy prescriptions, good interpersonal and communication skills, and some computer skills.
