Job Summary
- Assist healthcare team during intra-operative period
- Prepare and handle surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeon during surgical procedures
- Provide care based on patient age and needs (neonate through geriatric)
- Prioritize and problem-solve in dynamic surgical environments
- Recognize and respond immediately to urgent or emergency situations
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology, metric system, and aseptic technique in patient and family interactions
Responsibilities
- Maintain aseptic technique during surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes
- Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation
- Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts consistently according to policy
- Adhere to professional standards of practice
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification
