Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Scottsburg, Indiana
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. Key responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, and promoting quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will also mentor and precept staff, participate in quality and safety improvement efforts, and comply with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and function as a mentor/preceptor.
• Encourage teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvements and implement practice changes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient setting with acute care nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
