Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) - Travel

Location: Pompton Plains, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks (88 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM

Job Overview

• Provide competent nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including surgical patients across the continuum of care.
• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Deliver direct patient care and support the patient care team.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, pre-operative and postoperative care.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Current RN license.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to start IVs.
• Comfortable working with PICC lines, Midlines, and portacaths.
• Skilled in drawing labs peripherally and from PICCs and portacaths.
• Experience administering antibiotics, IVIG, blood transfusions, GI and rheumatoid medications, iron products, and other infusion medications.
• Ability to administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.

• Must meet Occupational Safety/OMS physical requirements.
