Job Description

• Utilize imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality.
• Prepare patients for procedures, educate them, and respond to questions or concerns with an age-appropriate approach considering communication, safety, patient education, and principles of physical/functional growth and development.
• Apply radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
• Position patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
• Work with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.
• Oversee and train students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.
• Ensure infection control and quality control techniques are followed.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Kentucky
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) or ARRT(N) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Nuclear Medicine)
