Location: North Bergen, New Jersey

Shift: Day shift (training hours 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Contract Length: 18 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients following ACR requirements.
• Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures within the Breast Center.
• Conduct mammographic imaging for breast needle localization and stereotactic procedures, including setup and cleanup.
• Provide immobilization devices, select technical factors based on patient needs, and operate equipment for specific procedures.
• Identify and label patient films correctly, develop x-ray films, and complete patient requisitions.
• Assist with quality control procedures and documentation in compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA standards.
• Educate patients on breast self-examination (BSE) and provide pre- and post-procedure instructions.
• Prepare cases for imaging and assist with compiling statistics related to patient follow-ups and biopsy tracking.
• Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting to developmental, cultural, and sensory needs.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in New Jersey
• Mammography Technologist with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• Mammography-Specific Certification
• Breast Imaging Competencies, including Advanced Breast Imaging
• ARRT certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with Dexa scanning (sometimes)
• Breast MRI coordination
• Needle localization
• Tomosynthesis (3D mammography)
• Stereotactic breast biopsy
• Breast ultrasound assistance
