Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required
Job Summary
- Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
- Perform intubation assistance, ventilator setup, and management.
- Evaluate patient needs including disease education, testing, and consultations.
- Educate patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patient care goals.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing at least 1 hour per day.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), including at least 1 year of ICU experience.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey.
- Current and valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
