Description

RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma


Job Summary

Provide nursing care to adult oncology infusion patients under general supervision. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and other medications, monitoring patient responses, assisting physicians during procedures, and educating patients and families about chemotherapy and related care.


Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Shifts vary between 8-12 hours
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Clinic open 7 days per week
  • Approximately 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid RN license in Oklahoma
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
  • Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) / Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of infusion experience, including infusion experience within the last year
  • Oncology experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy drugs, PO and SC injections, and other medications as ordered
  • Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and changes in physician orders
  • Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data, intervening as necessary
  • Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Provide patient and family education regarding chemotherapy and clinic procedures
  • Schedule patient follow-up and coordinate care including referrals and phone triage
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate

  • Must maintain good working relationships with other employees
  • Ability to perform duties with or without accommodation is essential
  • Preferred education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program (not required)
