Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, patient education, and mentoring/precepting team members. You will also participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
• Promote teamwork and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Acute care nursing experience
• Precepting experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health records system
