Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care focused on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role includes mentoring and precepting team members and participating in quality improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate patient and family education related to care and discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
• Promote teamwork and identify opportunities for quality and safety improvements.
• Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year.
• Experience in acute care nursing in an inpatient setting.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience mentoring and precepting nursing staff.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system.
