Mammography Technician

Job Overview

  • Location: Morristown, New Jersey
  • Employment type: Travel, clinical allied
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Shift: Day shift
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

Performs mammographic procedures and related breast imaging procedures, including bone density and breast biopsy work. The role also involves reviewing patient records, maintaining patient safety and infection control standards, and supporting accurate, timely imaging workflow.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in New Jersey
  • Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience
  • BLS
  • ARRT (Mammography)
  • Experience with stereotactic biopsies
  • Experience with breast interventions

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of mammography experience
  • References preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mammographic examinations, bone density studies, and breast biopsy procedures
  • Review patient records and ensure required information is available for the radiologist
  • Follow universal precautions, aseptic technique, ALARA, and patient safety standards
  • Maintain cleanliness, supplies, and equipment readiness
  • Complete required documentation and computer functions accurately and on time
  • Support training and mentoring of new team members or students
  • Participate in call and holiday rotations as needed by the site

  • Must be able to work independently and in a high-volume team environment
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, organization, and attention to detail are important
  • Epic and PACS familiarity is mentioned as trainable during the introductory period

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
