Description
Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location
- Plainfield, New Jersey
Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Day shift
- One Saturday per month
- Two Wednesdays per month as needed
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Selects and operates nuclear medicine equipment
- Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals
- Performs radionuclide procedures, including organ imaging and function studies
- Assists with therapeutic use of radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions
- Calibrates equipment and assays radionuclides
- Receives and inspects radiopharmaceutical packages according to state and NRC guidelines
- Maintains required records for radioactive materials
- Follows NRC, state, and JCAHO guidelines and practices
- Rotates work assignments as needed, including cardiology and PET/CT
- Performs clerical duties related to patient studies and scheduling
- Provides care tailored to patient needs, including age, culture, language, and sensory impairments
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Jersey
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ARRT
- High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Role Details
- Responsible for scheduled shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime, and on-call assignments as needed
- Uses PACS for image review
- Uses EPIC, Teletracking System, and a Nuclear Medicine Information System for daily clerical duties
- Able to start IVs
