Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II

Location

• Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• 10-hour shifts

Schedule

• 3 days of call per month
• Call may include Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and either 1 or 2 weeknights
• May be scheduled at an outpatient clinic off site from the main campus
• May cover procedures in the OR and cardiac catheterization lab
• May be required to perform fetal echocardiograms

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in Pediatric Echocardiography
• Pediatric Echocardiography experience within the last year
• RDCS, RVT, RCIS, RCES, RCS, ARRT (R), ARRT (CT), ARRT (MR), ARRT (CI), ARRT (S), ARRT (VS), ARDMS, or CCI

Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics
• Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff, patients, and families
• Ability to maintain accurate records, exercise sound judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately
• Ability to multitask, remain calm under stress, and pay close attention to detail
• Knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology
• Ability to apply core to intermediate-level theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with ordered procedures
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team
• Use specialized imaging equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures
• Review completed studies for quality and documentation accuracy
• Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting
• Perform quality control, cleaning, high-level disinfection, and equipment maintenance
• Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research
• Provide instruction and mentorship to less experienced team members
• Prepare and present in-service training
• Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks
