Job Details
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Schedule: Every other weekend, holiday/hard-to-fill shifts TBD
- Patient Ratio: 2:1
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
- EHR System: Sunrise (SCM)

Required Credentials & Certifications
- Licenses:
- Current RN license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification required prior to assignment
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Exams & Testing:
- Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80%)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Onboarding Requirements:
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine: Optional; exemptions accepted with mask requirement during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- PPD/TB Testing:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
- If positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start (annual update)
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check (updated annually)
- EPLS check within 90 days of start
- Education Verification: Must be completed within 90 days prior to start
- Professional References: At least two qualifying professional references required
- Driver’s License/State ID: Must be current and valid, matching address requirements
- Photo ID: Forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no filters or alterations)
- Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years, updated annually
This position is ideal for experienced ICU nurses specializing in neuro/trauma care who meet the credentialing and health requirements of Ascension Health. The role offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity Level 1 Trauma Center with advanced specialty services.
