Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (Travel)

Job Requirements

• Must have a Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist license prior to start date
• Experience: Current critical care experience or worked in critical care within the last 12 months
• Ability to manage a heavy workload
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NRP (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - optional but preferred
• Must have PALS certification
• Must have current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Must complete Ascension Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Onboarding and Education Attestation

Required Credentials & Compliance

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist License
  • BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP certifications
• Health & Safety:

  • MMR vaccination or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Fit Test (specific mask types required for WI)
  • Influenza vaccine (exemptions accepted with mask requirement during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Professional Requirements:

  • Ascension Core Competencies and Specialty Exam (minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, updated annually)
  • Criminal Background Check including SSN Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, etc. (updated annually or after break in service >90 days)
  • EPLS check within 90 days of start
  • Education Verification within 90 days of start
  • Employment Verification for past 7 years
  • Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
  • Ascension Profile (resume) and at least two professional references

Additional Information

• Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form is completed onsite by the facility
• Attestation for onboarding education must be uploaded by the agency with traveler’s signature
• Flu season mask policy applies if vaccine is declined
• Must be able to pass all required screenings and verifications prior to assignment start
• Travel assignment with potential floating to nearby sites within 40 miles
