Job Opportunity: RN CVICU - Travel Position in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

• Patient Load: Able to safely care for 2 ICU patients
• Skills/Experience Preferred:

  • Management of cardiac devices such as Impella and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Current experience and training with NxStage preferred

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Valid nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)
• NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)

Required Exams and Testing

• Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
• Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% score, updated as per latest edition)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
• 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, includes testing for 12 specified substances)
• Fit Test (respirator fit test, preferred to be completed prior to start)
• Color Vision Test (updated every 3 years)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• Varicella immunity proof or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
• Positive IGRA or PPD results with negative chest X-ray within one year, plus annual TB questionnaire
• Health statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Background and Verification Requirements

• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
• Employment verification for the past seven years
• Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days prior to start)
• Ascension EPLS (Exclusionary Provider List System) check within 90 days prior to start
• At least two professional references completed prior to first assignment

Additional Requirements

• Resume or professional profile submission
• Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead with start and end dates
• Completion of onboarding requirements and education attestation prior to or at start
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding completed onsite
