Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 5 (Non-negotiable)
Shift Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
Job Description
- Position requires floating between units and facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity.
- Travelers will be notified in advance if floating is required.
Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
- Nursys License Verification: Must be verified within 30 days prior to start.
- Current Nursing License: Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- BLS (AHA): Required before onboarding.
- ACLS (AHA): Required before onboarding.
Professional Credentials
- Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
- Two Professional References: Required prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Employment Verification: Past 7 years, updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Education Verification: Relevant to clinical work, completed within 90 days of start.
- Driver’s License/State ID: Must be current and match address on file.
- Onboarding Education Attestation: Completion of pre-hire modules and attestations required.
- Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite.
- Cerner Test-Out: Must complete Cerner test and training checklist with signed attestation.
- Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
Health & Safety Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required with specific timing before start; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances.
Testing & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, two attempts allowed.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Must pass with at least 80%, two attempts allowed; updated exam version required.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
Additional Notes
- Floating assignments are based on staffing needs and will be communicated before shifts.
- Some optional documents may be requested by unit leaders during onboarding.
- All verifications and screenings must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies.
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs who are flexible with floating assignments and meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
