Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)
Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions appropriately.
- Coordinate care among all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Follow physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Must be AHA certified.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Must be AHA certified.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Must be AHA certified.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Up to date, renewed every 4 years.
- NIH Certification – Updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group.
- CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion – Completed prior to start.
- CPI/MOAB High Risk On-Site Portion – Completed at orientation (optional).
- Ascension Specialty Exam – Completed prior to first assignment, updated every 3 years.
- Ascension Core Competencies – Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly.
- Ascension EKG Exam – Completed prior to start with a passing score.
- Ascension Color Vision – Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
Licensure & Verification
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season; exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start.
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required with documentation.
- Positive PPD-Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire: Preferred but optional.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
Onboarding & Compliance
- Completion of Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding.
- Completion of Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation.
- Completion of Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules.
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start.
- Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days prior to start.
- Ascension Skills Checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and updates.
Additional Notes
- Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background required.
- Resume/Profile and at least two professional references required.
- Post-assignment evaluation may be requested.
- Legal documentation of name change if applicable.
This position requires a highly skilled and credentialed RN with emergency room experience, able to work independently in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Compliance with all credentialing, health, and onboarding requirements is mandatory.
