Job Description
- Assist with C-Sections
Required Credentials and Compliance
Professional Credentials
- Current professional license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
- Ascension Resume required for submission
- At least two professional references completed prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, and National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days of assignment start, updated annually)
- Education verification relevant to clinical work (completed within 90 days of start)
- Employment verification for the past seven years (updated annually)
- Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and match address on file)
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required before onboarding
Testing and Checklists
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, completed prior to first assignment, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, completed within a year of start and updated yearly)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical only; completed within one year of start and updated annually)
Onboarding Education
- Completion of Pre-Hire Surgical Technologist Contract Worker Onboarding Attestation Modules prior to clearance
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required with appropriate timing and annual TB questionnaire updates
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within one year and TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite (annual update required)
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; retesting required if break in service > 90 days
Additional Notes
- All required documents must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies
- Some optional documents include hiring manager evaluation, name change documentation, badge photo, and exit survey (not mandatory)
