Travel RN Surgery Position - Baltimore, Maryland

Job Details

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience in an acute care setting.
  • Preferred specialty experience in Orthopedics, Vascular, Robotics, and Plastics.
  • Scrub experience is a plus but not required.
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.

Work Schedule

  • 4 call shifts per 6-week schedule.
  • Call schedule includes 2 weekdays and 2 independent weekend days/nights per 6 weeks.

Required Credentials and Compliance

  • Current RN license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding requirements including:
    • Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
    • Core Competencies training (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA; updated yearly)
    • Onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding
    • Nova StatStrip training (pre-hire modules)
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted.
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination.
    • Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
    • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines; no declinations accepted.
    • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
    • TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire.
    • Fit Test for respiratory protection (annual).
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, with MRO review if applicable.
  • Background and verification checks:
    • Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender registry.
    • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start.
    • Education verification within 90 days of start.
    • Employment verification for the past 7 years.
    • Professional references: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
  • Driver’s License/State ID must be current and valid.

Additional Notes

  • Some credentials and verifications must be updated annually or if there is a break in service longer than 90 days.
  • Certain onboarding documents and attestations must be uploaded prior to or at the start of the assignment.
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position.
