Position Details
- Specialty: Ultrasound Technician
- Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift/Call Requirements:
- Call based on department needs
- Currently scheduled: Every Thursday 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, every 4th Sunday 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- Occasional Friday/Saturday night shifts possible (rare)
- Holiday shifts rotate with regular staff
- Floating: May need to float to nearby locations based on need and skill set
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience performing general ultrasound exams including:
- OB 1st trimester
- Vascular ultrasound exams including DVT studies of upper and lower extremities and ABIs
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications and Licenses Required
- BLS (AHA)
- ARDMS Certification
- Current State License with primary source verification (within 30 days prior to start)
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, must match address requirements)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, chest X-ray and annual questionnaire required
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances
Onboarding and Documentation Requirements
- Signed Assignment Agreement (required before onboarding)
- Ascension Resume/Profile (required for submission)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics) completed within one year, minimum 80% score
- Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (pre-hire 6 hours training attestation)
- Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check) updated annually
- Ascension EPLS (Exclusionary List) check within 90 days of start
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
- Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (initial and upon extension)
Additional Notes
- Clinical floating may be required within the skill set to nearby facilities
- Call and holiday schedules are subject to department needs and rotation with regular staff
