Job Opportunity: RN Step Down
Location: Waco, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Specialty: RN Step Down
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Clinical skills and experience with:
- HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula)
- BIPAP
- Stable GTT management
- Post-operative care for CABG, AVR, MVR (Post-op day 1)
- Cardiovascular and vascular experience including AAA repair, lobectomy, CEA
- Management of NSTEMI, STEMI, ACS
- Pacers, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB), post DKA, respiratory failure, tracheostomies
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current RN license with primary source verification (within 30 days prior to start)
- BLS (AHA certified)
- ACLS (AHA certified)
- Nursys verification (within 30 days prior to start)
- Specialty competency exam (Ascension Specialty Exam) with minimum 80% passing score
- Color vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (updated yearly, minimum 80% score)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score
- Epic test-out assessment
- Fit test (annual)
- Health statement or physical exam (updated annually)
- 2-step PPD or IGRA with chest X-ray if positive, TB questionnaire (updated annually)
- Immunizations:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination documentation
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Varicella (two vaccines or immunity proof, no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days prior to start)
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Drug screening: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Education verification within 90 days prior to start
- Signed assignment agreement and other onboarding documentation
- Driver’s license or state ID (must be valid and match address requirements)
Job Description Highlights
