Job Opportunity: RN - Med/Surg Telemetry (Travel)
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Work Schedule:
- 36 to 48 hours per week acceptable
- Every other weekend required
- Easter coverage required
Required Qualifications
- License: Current Florida RN license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
- Specialty: Registered Nurse with experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated, but expect standard RN Med/Surg Telemetry experience requirements
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- NIH Certification (updated every 2 years)
- Testing & Competencies:
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Ascension EKG Exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (electronic health record competency)
- Health & Immunizations:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
- Drug Screening:
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Background & Verification:
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Employment verification for past 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification within 90 days prior to start
- At least two professional references required prior to first assignment
- Other Requirements:
- Driver’s License/State ID valid and matching address requirements
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension onboarding requirements and attestations completed prior to start
