Job Opportunity: RN - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- 36 to 48 hour contracts acceptable
- Every other weekend required
- Easter coverage required
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Current RN license in Florida with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License/State ID must be valid and match address on file
Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
Experience
- Specialty: RN PCU
- Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard for PCU RN (typically 1-2 years minimum)
- No explicit prior travel experience required
Mandatory Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start, updated every 3 years)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip training
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (clinical system competency)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required annually (specific mask types required in some states)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Professional & Background Verification
- Resume/Profile submission required
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
- Employment Verification for past 7 years
- Education Verification within 90 days of start
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment documentation
- Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
Additional Notes
- Post-assignment evaluation may be requested
- Legal documentation of name change if applicable
- Badge photo required (white or blue background, no alterations)
