Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technician

Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• On-call schedule: one shift per weekday (Monday-Thursday) and one weekend shift (Friday-Sunday) per 4-week rotation.
• Must live close enough to be onsite within 30 minutes for emergent call-ins (e.g., STEMI cases).
• Required experience in cardiac catheterization lab (CCL), structural heart, and high-risk cases: 2 years.
• Experience with electrophysiology (EP) and interventional radiology (IR) is a plus but not required.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT/IEMA certification.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be AHA).
• Valid professional license relevant to Cath Lab Technician discipline.
• Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and valid).

Required Health & Compliance

• Documentation of vaccinations and immunizations including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years; no declinations accepted).
• TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
• Fit test for respiratory protection (PAPR not completed onsite).
• Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually.
• 12-panel drug screen completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
• Criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, and professional references required.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of core competencies related to HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and National Patient Safety Goals within one year and updated every three years.
• Skills checklist for specialty to be completed within one year and updated annually.
• Various onboarding attestations and professional documentation as required.

Experience & Travel Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cath Lab, structural heart, and high-risk cases.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

This position is ideal for Cath Lab Technicians with solid experience in cardiac catheterization and structural heart procedures who are comfortable with an on-call travel assignment and meeting comprehensive compliance and credentialing requirements.
