Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Rotating

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • PALS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or MOAB (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills or MOAB De-Escalation Course)

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Completion of specialty and core competency exams with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
• Ascension-specific exams and checklists including:

  • Specialty Exam
  • Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
  • EKG Exam (passing score of 80%, updated every 3 years)
  • Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
• Health and immunization requirements:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or history verified by provider; no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire if positive
  • Fit Test for respiratory protection, updated annually
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
• Background checks including criminal background, employment verification, and EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) checks updated regularly
• Professional references: At least two required prior to first assignment
• Driver’s license or state ID valid and matching address requirements

• Onboarding includes completion of education attestations, contract worker onboarding, and photo badge submission.
• Documentation and verification must be current and compliant with all specified timelines.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this assignment.
