Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a long-term assignment at a Level 1 facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- NIHSS certification
- MOAB Moderate Risk certification
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Professional documents including resume/profile and at least two professional references.
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documents.
- Background checks including criminal background, EPLS, and employment verification covering the past seven years.
- Health and immunization requirements:
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine (optional, but mask required if declined during flu season).
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with annual questionnaire; chest X-ray if positive.
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (annual update required).
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Skills and competency assessments including:
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score.
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of 80% required).
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out and Skills Checklist (updated annually).
- Onboarding education attestations and pre-hire modules specific to nursing contingent workers.
- Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
Additional Notes
- All license and certification verifications must be current and completed within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Background and employment verifications must be updated annually or if there is a break in service longer than 90 days.
- Some onboarding requirements must be completed onsite.
- Compliance with all health and safety protocols is mandatory.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with PCU expertise seeking a structured long-term assignment with comprehensive onboarding and credentialing requirements.
