Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy services as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Work a 12.5-hour shift with every other weekend coverage.
• Participate in holiday coverage as specified.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Required Onboarding and Compliance

• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with a minimum passing score.
• Submission of professional references (at least two).
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start.
• Employment and education verifications completed and up to date.
• Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation.
• Completion of respiratory therapy-specific skills checklist annually.
• Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background.
• Health and immunization requirements including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or documented history; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Tdap valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• Tuberculosis screening:

  • 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes
  • If positive, negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit testing for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start (can be done onsite).
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
• Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.

Additional Notes

• The Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form is completed onsite.
• Attestation of completion of pre-hire education (6 hours) required.
• Background checks and verifications must be updated annually or if there is a break in service longer than 90 days.
• Drug screening includes testing for 12 specific substances with proof required.
• Flu vaccine exemptions require mask wearing during flu season.
