Job Opportunity: STICU Nights (RN Neuro/Trauma ICU)
Location: Evansville, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit and Patient Population
- Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center
- Focus on Adult Trauma Population, Post Surgical Management for General Surgery, Vascular Surgery (e.g., Carotid), and Neuro Surgery
- Patient ratio: 1:1 to 1:3
- Unit size: 8 beds
Shift Details
- Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- ICU experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification or competency
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine: Optional; if declined during flu season, mask required
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
- Fit test for respiratory protection, updated annually
- Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Documentation and Onboarding Requirements
- Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references prior to assignment
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after break in service >90 days
- Employment verification for past 7 years, updated annually or after break in service >90 days
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start; updated after break in service >90 days
- Signed assignment agreement required before onboarding
- Onsite onboarding including nursing contingent worker orientation and badge photo (forward-facing headshot, white or blue background, no filters)
- Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate start/end dates
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required
- Optional unit-specific checklist may be requested by unit leader within one week of start
- All exams and certifications must meet minimum passing scores and have limited attempts as noted
- Compliance with all required documentation and health screenings is mandatory for assignment clearance
This position is ideal for experienced Neuro/Trauma ICU RNs seeking a night shift role in a trauma center environment with a focus on adult trauma and post-surgical care.
