Job Opportunity: Surgical ICU RN
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; assess and communicate patient condition.
- Coordinate care across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Execute physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
- Use personal protective equipment following standard precautions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) experience
- SICU experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Cerner
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Completion of onboarding modules including nursing contingent worker onboarding and Nova StatStrip.
- Upload a forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations).
- Completion of skills checklist annually.
- Submission of professional references (at least two).
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 90 days of assignment start.
- Employment and education verifications within 90 days of start.
- Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead.
- Annual updates required for many certifications and health screenings.
- Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start.
Work Environment
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced ICU environment.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs seeking a long-term assignment in a surgical intensive care setting with comprehensive onboarding and credentialing requirements.
