Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Description
- Work in the Emergency Room setting.
- Uniform: Ceil blue scrubs.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system used: Cerner.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing required.
- TB Screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances.
Documentation and Verification Required Prior to Start
- Professional resume/profile.
- At least two professional references.
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required searches within 90 days of start.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
- Confirmation of assignment on agency letterhead with accurate start and end dates.
- Employment verification for the past seven years.
- Ascension onboarding requirements education attestation.
- Ascension nursing contract worker onboarding (completed onsite).
- Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules.
- Ascension badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
