Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (12 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in an adult and pediatric burn trauma surgical ICU.
- Primary RN Care model with nursing ratios:
- 1:2 for critical care patients.
- 1:1 for burn trauma code 1 admissions, high acuity, and post-operative patients.
- Responsibilities include:
- Invasive hemodynamic monitoring (at least every 1 hour).
- IV drip titration.
- Nurse-driven burn fluid resuscitation following the Parkland formula.
- Ventilator management.
- Continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH).
- Hourly pulse and flap Doppler checks.
- Initial debridement and dressing changes.
- Conscious sedation.
- Surgical recovery care.
- Epidural pump management.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana.
- Minimum of 2 years of Burn ICU experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
