Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Ortho/Trauma Stepdown (PCU)

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care on an orthopedic/trauma stepdown unit (Progressive Care Unit - PCU).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with PCU experience within the last year
  • Experience in orthopedic trauma nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Ascension Core Competencies
  • Ascension EKG Exam
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Valid Driver's License

Onboarding Requirements

  • Completion of nursing contingent worker onboarding education and attestation.
  • Onsite nursing contract worker onboarding.
  • Forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations).
  • Confirmation of assignment documentation with accurate start/end dates.
  • Completion of color vision test prior to start and updated every 3 years.

Additional Notes

  • Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leadership within one week of start.
  • Hiring manager evaluation and name change documentation are optional.

This position is ideal for an experienced RN with PCU or stepdown unit expertise, comfortable working day shifts in an orthopedic/trauma care setting, and able to meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
