Job Opportunity: Level III NICU Respiratory Therapist, Night Shift

Location: Hoffman Estates, Illinois

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Description

Provide respiratory therapy services in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting during the night shift.

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license valid in Illinois, with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Experience: Must meet or exceed the highest required years of experience for Registered Respiratory Therapist specialty (not explicitly stated, assume standard RRT experience).
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) certified
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA certified
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA certified
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics certified
• Health and Safety:

  • Up-to-date immunizations including:

    • Two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Two Varicella vaccines or serological evidence of immunity (no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Tuberculosis screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit testing for respiratory protection (PAPR not completed onsite)
  • 12-panel drug screen completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
• Background Checks and Verifications:

  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 90 days of assignment start
  • Employment verification for the past seven years
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
  • Professional references: at least two qualifying references prior to first assignment
• Onboarding Requirements:

  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum passing score
  • Skills checklist for respiratory therapy completed within one year and updated annually
  • Various professional and personal health documents and attestations as required by the facility
