Job Opportunity: Level III NICU Respiratory Therapist, Day Shift

Job Description

Provide respiratory therapy services in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting.

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license valid in Illinois, with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Experience: Minimum years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (use highest required if multiple values present; here assumed standard for Level III NICU RRT).
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA certified
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA certified
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA certified
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics certified
• Health and Safety:

  • Up-to-date immunizations including:

    • Two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Two Varicella vaccines or serological evidence of immunity (no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap vaccine valid within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Tuberculosis screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire. Two-step PPD or IGRA required prior to start.
  • Fit testing for respiratory protection equipment (PAPR not done onsite; specific mask types required if applicable).
  • 12-panel drug screen completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Background Checks and Verifications:

  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 90 days of assignment start.
  • Employment verification for the past seven years.
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
  • Professional references: at least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
• Onboarding Requirements:

  • Completion of facility-specific respiratory therapy onboarding education and attestations.
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics within one year, updated every three years.
  • Skills checklist for respiratory therapy clinical competencies completed within one year and updated annually.
  • Badge photo with specified background requirements.
  • Driver’s license or state ID matching home state address (if applicable).

• The Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form is completed onsite and uploaded by the facility.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this assignment.
