Registered Nurse (RN) Electrophysiology (EP) Lab

Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:45 AM – 03:15 PM (Five 8-hour shifts per week)


Job Summary

Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures, including cardiac device implants and ablations. Support the EP team in a fast-paced procedural environment to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after EP procedures.
  • Monitor patients throughout electrophysiology and device procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and clinical staff for safe and efficient patient care.
  • Maintain procedural documentation and comply with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Support patient education and discharge planning as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Electrophysiology Lab experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, five 8-hour shifts per week.
  • Flexibility required; occasional late shifts to complete procedures (typically no more than once per pay period).

Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements

  • Current RN license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
  • Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references.
  • Driver’s license or state ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements).
  • Completion of required health screenings and immunizations including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or history verified by provider)
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine (optional, but mask required if declined during flu season)
    • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive, annual questionnaire)
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
  • Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
  • Completion of required onboarding education and competency assessments including:
    • Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score.
    • EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score.
    • Skills checklist for specialty, updated annually.
    • Cerner electronic health record test and training checklist.
  • Background checks including criminal, employment, education, EPLS, and assignment confirmation per policy.
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
