Ultrasonographer Position - Monroe, Louisiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record physiological, pathological, and anatomical data.
- Produce ultrasound images to assist in medical diagnosis.
- Monitor and ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Conduct patient screening following established protocols.
- Operate equipment safely according to departmental policies.
- Provide complete pre- and post-exam education to patients and their families.
- Evaluate competency levels of others as a preceptor.
- Report to Supervisor or Manager.
Required Certifications and Credentials
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- FMOLHS American Registry of Diagnostic Sonography Registry
- FMOLHS 1 Specialty Registries
Required Immunizations and Health Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof or exemption accepted (optional)
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement
- Fit Test: N95 mask fit test (3M 1860, 1860s, or 1870+), completed within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
- Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with required signatures
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (10/1 - 4/30), medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- TB Test: Negative QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year or 2-step skin test; if positive, must provide MD clearance or proof of treatment
- Health Statement: Signed and dated within 1 year confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years or declination with required signatures
- Annual TB Questionnaire: Required within 6 months of start; if positive, documentation of evaluation and treatment completion required
- Eye Exam & Color Vision: Ishihara Color Test and Snellen Vision test within 1 year prior to start
Required Professional and Compliance Documents
- Resume/Profile (required for submission)
- Criminal Background Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start, including SSN address trace, county criminal searches for last 7 years, national criminal check, education and employment verification (last 5 years), and driving record
- Drug Screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- Skills Checklist: Unit-specific, within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
- Competency Exam: Passing score of 80% or higher within 1 year prior to start
- Core Competencies: Current within 1 year prior to start, passing score of 80% or higher; includes HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age-Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives; updated annually
- HRIS Form (required for submission)
- Badge Photo: Forward-facing, well-lit, neutral background, JPEG format
- Annual Education Packet: Required
This position requires adherence to strict credentialing, immunization, and compliance standards to ensure patient and staff safety and quality of care.
