Registered Nurse Telemetry - Nights
Location: Lafayette, Louisiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way, incorporating patient differences into care delivery. Responsibilities include integrating knowledge, skills, and experience to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the care continuum, including patient and family education. Work is performed within the scope of licensure as a registered nurse.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Louisiana (primary source verification required within 30 days of start)
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only
- Health Requirements:
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption
- MMR (proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination)
- Hepatitis B (proof of 3 immunizations, positive titer, or declination)
- Influenza vaccine during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption
- Tuberculosis test (negative QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year or 2-step skin test)
- Varicella (proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination)
- Tdap vaccination within past 10 years or declination
- Annual TB questionnaire and evaluation if positive
- Fit test for N95 mask (3M 1860, 1860s, or 1870+) within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
- Health statement signed within 1 year confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Background and Screening:
- Criminal background check within 30 days prior to start, including SSN address trace, county and national checks, education and employment verification (last 5 years), and driving record
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- Competency and Skills:
- Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
- Competency exam with passing score of 80% or higher within 1 year prior to start
- Core competencies completed within 1 year prior to start (HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives)
- Additional:
- Eye exam including Ishihara Color Test and Snellen Vision test within 1 year prior to start
- Professional resume/profile required for submission
- HRIS form required for submission
- Badge photo required prior to onboarding
