Registered Nurse - House Supervisor / Transfer Center Coordinator
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
This role combines two key responsibilities:
House Supervisor:
- Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating and directing nursing unit activities in the absence of Nurse Managers and Administration.
- Provides leadership, supervises nursing staff, and ensures high-quality nursing care.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practices.
- Works independently and as part of a team.
- Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Transfer Center Coordinator:
- Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating safe, timely, and efficient patient transfers within and between facilities.
- Acts as a communication hub among referring facilities, physicians, nursing leadership, bed management, and ancillary departments.
- Ensures appropriate patient placement based on clinical needs and bed availability.
- Maintains compliance and detailed records for quality assurance.
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Minimum of 4 years of House Supervisor experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI/MOAB) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Valid Driver’s License
Work Schedule
- House Supervisor: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Transfer Center Coordinator: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Total hours approximately 36 hours per week (12 hours as House Supervisor, 24 hours as Transfer Center Coordinator)

- This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- The role demands the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
- Compliance with all regulatory and facility standards is essential.
- Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
