Registered Nurse - House Supervisor / Transfer Center Coordinator

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

This role combines two key responsibilities:

House Supervisor:
- Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating and directing nursing unit activities in the absence of Nurse Managers and Administration.
- Provides leadership, supervises nursing staff, and ensures high-quality nursing care.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practices.
- Works independently and as part of a team.
- Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Transfer Center Coordinator:
- Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating safe, timely, and efficient patient transfers within and between facilities.
- Acts as a communication hub among referring facilities, physicians, nursing leadership, bed management, and ancillary departments.
- Ensures appropriate patient placement based on clinical needs and bed availability.
- Maintains compliance and detailed records for quality assurance.
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
Minimum of 4 years of House Supervisor experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI/MOAB) certification
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Valid Driver’s License

Work Schedule

House Supervisor: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Transfer Center Coordinator: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Total hours approximately 36 hours per week (12 hours as House Supervisor, 24 hours as Transfer Center Coordinator)

Additional Notes

This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
The role demands the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
Compliance with all regulatory and facility standards is essential.
Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
