Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Location: Fort Madison, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 9 weeks (approximate)
Start Date: May 18, 2026
End Date: July 19, 2026
Shift: Nights

Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department.
Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs and priorities.
Triage patients safely, rapidly, and accurately upon entry to the emergency care system.
Coordinate care with other professional disciplines as needed.
Support unit preparation for Epic EMR go-live; Cerner and Epic EMR experience required.
Self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; must pass a basic dysrhythmia test during the first week to continue working in the Emergency Department.
May be placed on call occasionally during low census periods; must be able to respond and arrive onsite within one hour if called in.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Iowa.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the Emergency Department, including experience within the last year.
Current certifications in PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
Experience with Cerner and Epic electronic medical record systems.
