Job Description

• Responsible for coordination and direction of activities on nursing units and other departments in the absence of Nurse Managers and Administration.
• Represents nursing leadership by exhibiting professional behavior.
• Supervises staff providing general nursing care.
• Works independently and as a team member.
• Provides high-quality nursing services to patients, employees, administration, management, physicians, and visitors.
• Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards and evidence-based practices and ensures compliance.
• Shift schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1800-0630), averaging 36 hours per week (24 hours one week, 36 hours the next, totaling 60 hours over two weeks).
• Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips; a basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week.
• Cerner EMR experience required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
• Minimum 4 years of House Supervisor experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current certifications: BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI or MOAB.
• Telemetry experience.
• Experience with Cerner EMR.
