Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 07:30 AM – 06:00 PM

Job Summary

Provide intra-operative nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Collaborate with surgical team members to deliver high-quality care.
Primary duties include circulating procedures, instrumentation, assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers.
Care for surgical patients of all ages in specialties including ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics (including Spine), Podiatry, Dental/Oral Surgery, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, Urology, OB/Gynecology (including C-sections), Vascular, and Bariatric surgery.
Clinical activities include circulating, instrumenting, first assisting, patient education, and serving as a resource nurse.
Additional call hours required: approximately 70-80 hours per 4-week period with a 30-minute response time.
Previous experience with Epic electronic health records system is required.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Experience with Epic electronic health records system.
