Description

Surgical Technician Travel Job - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Position Summary

  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Assist in pre-operation patient care and transport to/from operating room.
  • Work primarily in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), may float to Main Operating Room.
  • Participate in process improvement projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Competent to meet age-specific needs of assigned unit.

Work Schedule

  • Call required 1-2 nights per week and every 3rd weekend.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required (CVOR experience preferred).
  • Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required.
  • Operating room experience required.
  • Competent in more than two specialty areas.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain standing and/or sitting positions.
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, or bend.
  • Use of typical clinical equipment.

Contract Length

  • 12 weeks.

Immunization and Health Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccine required.
  • Proof of MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza (seasonal), and Varicella vaccines or accepted declinations.
  • TB test (one-step skin test, TSpot, or Quantiferon) within 12 months.
  • Annual TB questionnaire within past 12 months.
  • Physical/Health statement within 12 months of assignment start.
  • Drug screen within 14 days of start date.

Additional Credential Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License or State ID.
  • Completion of core competencies, skills checklist, and unit exam.
  • Professional references and background checks including criminal background, education verification, and various federal/state registries within 30 days prior to start.
  • Compliance with facility-specific job description and resource packet.

Note: Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
